Meet the Team at Cosmetic Orthodontic Systems

Hi, I'm Dr. Mike Grossman.

I love helping families create healthy, confident smiles—whether that’s fixing a worn-down tooth or guiding one into just the right spot.

I fell in love with orthodontics early in my career and completed a two-year continuum course through the Academy of Straight Wire and Functional Orthodontics. From there, I dove into specialized training for Six Month Smiles® clear braces and Invisalign, refining techniques that gently guide teeth into their ideal positions.

I even had a blast teaching Six Month Smiles to fellow dentists and spent countless hours writing my book, Cosmetic Orthodontic Implementation Guide. Right now, I’m channeling that energy into my own hands-on course—packed with practical tips and real-world cases—to help other dentists bring cosmetic orthodontics into their practices.

Today, my practice is a perfect 50/50 blend of restorative dentistry and orthodontics. I’ve completed hundreds of cosmetic orthodontic cases, and nothing makes me happier than seeing someone’s face light up when they realize their smile is exactly how they always wanted it.

When I’m not in the office, my greatest joys are my wife, Meagan, and our kids—Andrew, Lilah, Noah, and Owen. We love taking walks together with our Beagle, Winnie. I also unwind by playing guitar, skiing, and golfing, and I can’t wait to share those passions with my sons and daughter.

Balancing family life with my passion for dentistry keeps me inspired every day. I look forward to welcoming you into our practice and sharing that same enthusiasm for your smile!

Kelly Planeta, CDA, NYS Licensed Dental Assistant

Lead Clinical Mentor – Assistant Training

Kelly brings a rare blend of deep clinical experience, teaching ability, and real-world orthodontic implementation to the COS Platform. As the Lead Clinical Mentor for Assistant Training, Kelly works directly with doctors and teams who want to elevate their orthodontic systems, outcomes, and confidence—starting at the assistant level.

Kelly began her dental career as a certified, New York State–licensed dental assistant, and her journey with orthodontics started early—first as a patient of Dr. Mike Grossman, and later as a key member of his clinical team. From the very beginning, she recognized the importance of systems, consistency, and patient-centered care in delivering high-quality orthodontic results.

Over the years, Kelly has completed extensive orthodontic training, including straightwire appliance therapy, aligner-based treatment, and comprehensive interceptive orthodontics. Her hands-on experience spans multiple treatment philosophies and techniques, allowing her to explain complex concepts in a way that is practical, repeatable, and easy for assistants to implement chairside.

In addition to her clinical leadership, Kelly has a unique talent for teaching. She excels at:

  • Training assistants to think orthodontically—not just follow steps

  • Breaking down straightwire and aligner mechanics into clear, actionable protocols

  • Coaching teams through interceptive cases with confidence and consistency

  • Helping practices reduce doctor bottlenecks by empowering well-trained assistants

Kelly serves as Dr. Grossman’s primary orthodontic assistant and has been instrumental in building scalable orthodontic workflows within a busy general practice environment. She also played a key role in the development of Dr. Grossman’s clinical textbook, Foundational Orthodontics for the General Dentist, helping translate orthodontic principles into assistant-driven systems that actually work in real practices.

Through the COS Platform, members can enroll in personalized clinical mentoring and hands-on assistant training with Kelly (available as an additional service). These sessions are designed for teams who want real implementation support—not theory—whether in-office or in structured training environments.

Kelly’s passion for orthodontics is rooted in patient transformation. As she often says, “There’s nothing better than handing a patient a mirror when their braces come off and seeing that moment when they truly smile.” That same commitment to transformation now extends to the assistants and teams she mentors—helping them grow skills, confidence, and pride in the care they deliver.

Jessica DiMarco

Orthodontic Administration & Front Desk Process Mentor

Jessica DiMarco is the go-to authority for the administrative and front-desk side of orthodontics on the COS Platform. She serves as the bridge between patients, the clinical team, and the financial systems that allow orthodontic care to run smoothly, efficiently, and profitably.

Jessica has been in the dental field since 2004, beginning her career as a dental assistant before transitioning to the front desk and ultimately into senior leadership roles. Her clinical background gives her a rare advantage: she understands orthodontic treatment not just from a scheduling or financial standpoint, but from the clinical flow and patient experience perspective as well.

Since joining Dr. Mike Grossman’s organization in 2010, Jessica has played a central role in building scalable orthodontic systems within general practices. She is deeply experienced in every step of the orthodontic patient journey, including:

  • Handling the first phone call and initial patient inquiry

  • Presenting treatment confidently and clearly

  • Coordinating schedules between doctors, assistants, and patients

  • Navigating financing conversations with empathy and clarity

  • Creating seamless handoffs between the front desk and clinical team

Jessica has completed extensive continuing education in both clinical dentistry and practice management, including programs such as Guide Them to Yes, Productive Dentist Academy coaching, and Classic Practice Resources consulting. Her training allows her to blend patient psychology, operational efficiency, and financial transparency into repeatable front-desk systems.

Within Dr. Grossman’s orthodontic and education ventures, Jessica’s role has expanded far beyond traditional office management. She oversees orthodontic administration, marketing coordination, accounting workflows, and client relations—earning her reputation as the operational backbone of the organization.

Through the COS Platform, members can access one-on-one process and administrative training with Jessica (available as an additional service). These sessions are ideal for front desk teams, treatment coordinators, and office managers who want hands-on guidance in refining workflows, improving case acceptance, and reducing friction between administrative and clinical teams.

Jessica’s approach is practical, calm, and systems-driven—focused on creating processes that work in real practices with real people. Her goal is simple: to make orthodontics easier for patients, smoother for teams, and more predictable for doctors.
